Watercolors

H&M kimono dress, Anthropologie yellow skip, Steven Madden booties, Accessories from Forever 21 and random
The 70's is one of my favorite eras for fashion. The women were so carefree and glamorous. I always felt a little bit like a hippie at heart. So, when I went to H&M to scoop out their opening day of their :Garden Collection" I had to snag this beautiful watercolored kimono. However, once again I ended up with a size too big for me. So, I added this yellow slip under and it worked well with the colors and I felt more comfortable. I wore this to a fun BBQ with friends over the weekend and I felt a 70s housewife hosting a party.
There are some great 70s style clothes that I have my eye on right now.
What is your favorite style era?

Marshmallow Mini

Forever 21 blazer, H&M dress and shoes, Michael Kors watch, Mom's bangle, Initials charm necklace, Ray-Bans
The ever so popular H&M garden collection flower mini dress. Every fashion blogger was talking about it. I wasn't sure I even wanted it, but when I saw that is came in this beautiful cream color I was sold. I feel this color is so romantic and perfect for my pastel obsession right now. When I get dressed I try to be practical. I dress for the occasion. However, sometimes you want to play a character. It doesn't have to be a literal interpretation, but something that just evokes a feeling for you and you play off that. This outfit reminded me of Stella from one of my favorite older movies "Great Expectations" from the amazing novel by Charles Dickens. I think I was inspired by this intriguing gate that is on my street that leads to this house that is being reconstructed. There are leaves and vines everywhere and the gate is ajar making it seem a little mysterious. Every time I drive by I think of this movie. Stella is intoxicating with her blond hair, girlie dresses and playful mischievous attitude. I could see her wearing this outfit with a pretty pink bow in her hair and a glass of champagne.

Make Me Blush

H&M cardigan, Forever 21 lace bustier, Zara trousers and belt, Steve Madden booties, Cupcakes and Cashmere pendant necklace, name necklace and peace sign necklace made by me, Free People ring, Vintage clutch
With spring in full effect I have every excuse to wear beautiful blush tones and indulge in my feminine style. On a recent speed shopping trip I snagged these Zara trousers. I knew that I wanted to pair them with my pretty pastels and pinks that are slowly taking over my closet. I love my pink lace bustier, but I went against a rule I usually go by-FIT. It is so important to bu the right fit to look as flattering as possible. I knew this bustier is twice my size and it shows, but it was the only one left and I was enamored.
A few of my girlfriends and I got together the other night of healthy snacks and Sophia sparkling wine. It is always a blast and I love spending time gabbing while sipping a crisp and yummy Sophia! I still remember my first sip of this girlie sweet drink (here) named after my idol Sophia Coppola. I mean how can it not be delicious?
Please, if you have not had a chance to vote for me- I am the finalist in two amazing contests and I need your help Vote HERE for LVC Magazine Contest and HERE for the H&M style eye (you need to be on Facebook and accept the H&M application to vote and comment on my looks). They both end this Wed.

Fingerlicking French Macaroons

After a hard day at work a girl deserves some sweets! So, after a rough day I decided to head over to a charming pastry shop in Redwood City, Pamplemousse. They have such a great assortment of my favorite indulgence the french macaroon. I don't know what I like better the crisp and creamy deliciousness or how pretty these little things are (here and here) . They were the perfect pick me up! Now, I just need to head to the gym!
Here is a recipe from our good old Martha Stewart or check here. I haven't tried this yet. I am a little afraid. Have any of you baked these before? Have any tips?

Cheap, Chic & Cheeky: Moschino

Moschino Cheap & Chic
I am always excited to see what the house of Moschino's sister line Moschino Cheap & Chic is going to come charm us with. It does not matter what season, the clothes always have a sense of fun and playfulness. I love a collection that is colorful and cheeky and Moschino C&C never disappoints. Although I may not be able to wear this youthful cutesy wardrobe all the time I definitely wouldn't mind having some of these to brighten up my closet.

Spring Time Vibe

Forever 21 blazer, Urban Outfitters tank, American Apparel cami, J Crew pants, Urban Outfitters Flats, Michael Kors watch, Mom's bangle, Etsy and Forever 21 ring, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag
The weather has been incredible lately. It definitely feels like spring. Since I love the pastel colors that are everywhere this season I thought I would dress like Easter in baby pink, blue, and yellow. I've been on the look out for a vintage pastel pink blazer, but I found this one at Forever 21. I love wearing flats when running around all day. In my mind they are chic and easy. I am always that girl who when wearing heels has her handy pair of flats in her handbag for when you just can't bear it any longer. I mean I am all about crazy heels, but there is something so classic and realistic about a great pair of flats. I always stock up at Urban Outfitters. They have the best selection of flats all year long. I probably own 6 pairs from there in all different colors.
I went out on a limb and bought a pair of turquoise and pink floral flat tennis shoes from there. Even the clerk was gave me a face like, "You are going to buy these"? I think during the summer they will be fun with tattered denim shorts and a white tee!
In a month it will be time for new sunglasses and swimsuits. I have my eyes on balconet top swim suits ( like here) and Stella McCartney or Chloe glasses.

Going Tribal

Old Gap Cargo jacket, Forever 21 dress, Urban Outfitters skirt underneath, Asos boots, Forever 21 jewelery, armor ring eBay, Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag
The tribal trend for this spring and summer is a great excuse to pile on the jewelry and other accessories. I found this little tunic dress at Forever 21 the other day and thought it would look great with my over the knee boots. I mean literally this dress is little, probably because it is meant to wear as a tunic over pants, but I wanted it as a dress. It hardly covered my unmentionables. So, I had to play with ways to keep it rated G. I tried the dress tucked into a skirt. It was pretty cute, but the fabric was a little thick and bulky. So, I decided I will just keep the skirt on under the dress for a little more coverage. You can hardly tell it isn't part of the dress. I also wanted to wear a cargo jacket with this look. I would have loved a longer cargo jacket that came below the dress and hard oversized pockets, but sometimes you just have to work with what you have!
I am really enjoying the over the knee boots from Asos. They were on sale and worth every penny. I can wear them all the way up or fold them down for a different look. My armor ring was fun to wear too. It is funky and really stood out. I love bold accessories. Don't be afraid to play around. I almost added a long necklace to layer with my short one and that would have been fine. Yes, there are style rules, but rules are meant to be broken.Check out my past tribal trend here.
I also wanted to say thank you to Tayler (love the name) from Big Hair and Bikinis for emailing me this surprise portrait of me. It is flattering to have someone draw you and she does an amazing job. Check out her blog for more blogger portraits and great fashion and style!
I was also equally flattered that Sugar Darling Vintage posted this about me. So sweet and I feel the same about her! Post about that later this week!

Smitten: Kayo Tamaishi

I actually enjoy making business cards. Especially, when I do it at MOO because they make it so easy and I can upload my own photos and use artists that they provide. That is how I came across the art of Kayo Tamaishi. She was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan. Kayo's work includes water painting, book cover design, magazine illustration, T-shirts design and more. I was smitten from the very first image. So smitten in fact that I ordered a bunch of her work to be the front of my new business cards! I can't stop staring at her playful and pretty designs. The bangs are fierce!
Please check out her web page HERE
