I have always liked rooting for the underdog and Kmart is definitely an underdog in the fashion world. The company is not known for being fashion forward, but this fall they are revamping their apparel collection and created Kmart Design. The Kmart Fall 2010 collection is based on the latest trends, pulling from the Military-inspired Sgt.Pepper Jacket with shoulder embellishments, a Rocker Chic Bomber Jacket and Distressed Skinny Denim. I would wear the Cropped Peplum Military Coat (images 1&2) with a long flowing floral maxi dress and a wide belt and booties this fall. Here is a fun video featuring the fall collection.

They are giving away $100 gift cards for a shopping spree every week, check it out here!

i like when this type of companies like kmart or target create collections that have a more fashionable feeling and take inspiration from runway collections. and they have great prices, so it's nice to have more options when thinking of buying a product

Wow. I'm very surprised. I like the Military Coat too... as well as the Sgt.Pepper Jacket with shoulder embellishments. I feel like I'd wear both of these all fall and winter.

I worked for Walmart corp. a few years ago on an apparel launch. The trick to clothes bought a discount stores is you have to have them tailored or do it yourself. They don't all fit this great on everyone. But I guess that can be said for all clothes. I do love the jacket in images 1&2. Too cute.

I saw that jacket in the September issue of Lucky and tried to buy it. Wasn't on the website. Maybe I need to try again.

Thanks so much for the lovely post, Taylor! And, thanks all for the fab comments! We've been receiving lots of luv and questions about availability since we shared the Fall Line.

Most of the Fall Collection will be in stores and online starting first week of Sept., which is only a few weeks away. :-)

LOve the looks, especially the first coat! I'm always a fan when the "big box" lower-priced retailers come out with chic and affordable lines...
Just previewed the Mulberry for Target line that will be available in October, and I definitely will be first in line for that too!!

Kmart?! Wow...so unexpected from them. But I suppose they're trying to compete with Target. I love the shoes in the last shot--so cute!

Sounds like Kmart took a cue from Target and finally decided to offer a few updated looks. Great for them!! These looks are really awesome AND affordable! Thanks for posting this and bringing it to our attention, I would have never known!
