Casual Countryside

Tank-via Nasty Gal, Skirt- J. Crew, Shoes-Urban Outfitters, Bag-Rebecca Minkoff, Watch-Michael Kors, Bangle-vintage, Sunglasses- Juicy Couture, Necklaces-House of Harlow 1960 and random charms
Sometimes I forget how many beautiful little spots are hidden around our neighborhood. After a lot of r&r from being sick we decided to head out into the Saratoga countryside and wine taste (we love to wine taste-see other spots here). We stumbled upon this dreamy hillside with city views, a bubbling water fountain, and cascading vineyards. Since, the afternoon was quite toasty I decided to dress light weight and easy. I love wearing a comfy pair of flats and this leopard pair only cost me $9 and I wear them constantly.

The "L" Word

Dress-vintage c/o of Thifted, Bangle-vintage Monet, Ring-Forever 21, Shoes-Topshop
When I saw this dress over at one of my favorite and local eBay vintage stores Thifted one word came to mind, love. I knew in that moment I had to have it. Luckily, they sent it to me as a gift. It is just as perfect on as it was online. Perfect pretty flowers, a cute hemline and a open criss cross back that screams summer time.

I shot this last week while I was home sick, I thought I would shower up and show off my new love. Trying to get cleaned up when you are sick can be a challenge. I was left with a burnt finger and shaving cream instead of shampoo in my hair, but this dress was worth the trouble.

Weekend Wannabe: Ashley Olsen

This weekend my "weekend wannabe"  is Ashley Olsen. I know most people are fans of Mary Kate, but I have always been partial to Ashley. I love her casual style mixed with designer labels and glamorous accessories. She always looks effortlessly chic.Whether she is wearing nerdy glasses, a vintage scarf or a leather skirt she looks stylish and fashion forward. She also isn't afraid to be a minimalist, which I am gaining more and more respect for. I love how she can wear a black sweater and cut off shorts with no jewelry and a pair of flips flops and still look amazing.

Fashionably Fit

Many of you know my two passions are fitness and fashion. Both of which fuel my days and give me constant inspiration. I don't claim to be the best in either one of these departments, but I sure work hard at incorporating them into my daily routine. I get a lot of emails asking about working out and how to stay motivated. I also get questions about what work outs to do and what works best. These questions can be hard to answer since everyone is different and has different opinions on what works, but I thought I would share my own routine and what works for me.

1. Try to plan your week in advance. Things are bound to come up and change, but it is always best to have an ideal schedule in mind that keeps you organized and prepared. This will keep you from making excuses that you don't have your gym bag or the right shoes.

2. Always pack your gym bag the night before. I have learned that if I am not ready to go to work out right away I tend to get distracted or too tired and decide not to go. However, if I have that gym bag in my trunk every day and can swing by the gym right after work I tend to go more.

3. Do something that challenges you. This is something that most women DON'T do. They will go to the gym and do the elliptical machine for 45 minutes while reading magazines and then they do abs and leave. NEWS FLASH this will not make you fit ladies.  Most women have a hard time realizing that even if you only work out for 20 minutes, if you push yourself to your limits in that short time you will see more results than if you spent an hour working half as hard.

4. Do not try to work on trouble areas. This also does not work. You can't say, "I want my arms more toned and my calves to be smaller". Now, granted these things can come from an overall fitness regimen, but you can't go into a gym and try to do tricep push downs all day and expect results. You need a combination of weight training, cardo, and diet to attain results.

5. Don't be afraid to get bulky. This is something I have even struggled with. You think that by lifting heavy weights you will turn into a body builder. This will not happen unless you want to look like one and even if you did you would have to eat and lift like a crazy person to get there. Women spend way too much time worrying about this and lift 8-10 pound dumbbells. At Crossfit I lift heavy weight and I have more lean muscle than I did before. I do have larger quads, but they are fit and strong and what is so wrong about that?
There are so many other things to think about and I will save them for another post. Just remember the most important thing of all is to have fun and feel good about yourself. If you aren't than you may need to try something new.

Peach Sorbet Sidewalks

Blazer-J. Crew, Trousers-vintage via Ramon West Vintage, Tank-Nasty Gal, Shoes-Jeffrey Campbell, Handbag-Rebecca  Minkoff,  Sunglasses-Juicy Couture, Belt-Forever 21, Necklaces-House of Harlow 1960 & (small one) c/o A Box For My Treasure
I am not over the pastel trend and to tell you the truth I don't think I ever will be. I love feeling like a soft pretty sorbet ice cream. I also love mixing vintage and new together. If you have yet to include vintage into your wardrobe I highly recommend it. It adds character to your look and is something that is one of a kind. I shop for vintage online a lot (yes, I am lazy) and sometimes I make the mistake of not looking at the measurements. These trousers are a little small and short on me, but I just had to wear them! So, I rolled them up and tried not to eat too much for the day, all in the name of fashion.

The Coveted Cat

Dress-via Nasty Gal, Belt-J. Crew, (Shorts underneath-Lululemon), Shoes-Jeffrey Campbell(via Nasty Gal), Socks-American Apparel, Hat-Uniqlo, Watch-Michael Kors, Bangle-Vintage Monet
I, like many others was and still am obsessed with Miu Miu's Spring 2010 collection. There were so many fun prints to prance around in. Since I was not able to afford anything from Miu Miu (I am still crying over the Sparrow Print Platforms that I would have gladly dropped dough on) I have to fill the void by buying Miu Miu inspired prints for a reasonable price. Luckily this little number showed up at Nasty Gal. It is a little shorter than I expected so I threw on some Lululemon yoga hot pants underneath. This dress sold out fast, but I saw that it is available at my new sponsors store Shop Cuffs. Hurry and grab one, it's fun for a hot summer day!

Baby Blues

Dress & Blazer-Forever 21, Shoes- c/o Modcloth, Socks- J. Crew, Handbag-Rebecca Minkoff, Sunglasses-Juicy Couture, Watch-Michael Kors, Bangle-Vintage Monet
Blue has always been one of my favorite colors combine that with nautical stripes and a bow and I am one happy camper. I found this dress for a steal at Forever 21 and usually I would wear it with some cute high heeled sandals or flats, but Modcloth sent me these darling oxford patent pumps. I felt like channeling Alex Chung with her pumps and socks. My boyfriend never understands this look, but I like it.
Don't be afraid to try socks with your sandals and wedges this summer. They add a fun and funky attitude to your outfit. I love the ones at American Apparel & J. Crew. Just don't rock them with thong flip flops, not cute.
I am growing my bangs out this summer and trying some new looks. I am having a hair and wine night at my girlfriend's soon where we drink and then play with each others' hair.  Call us weird, but we just really like a glass of wine and feeling like we are 10 again.
Please, follow me with BLOGLOVIN', FACEBOOK, and TWITTER.
