Pistachio Ice Cream

{pistachio ice cream}

If I had to choose one delicious and mouth watering dessert to eat every night it would definitely be ice cream (or anything in the ice cream family- gelato and frozen yogurt). I like my ice cream to be soft and succulent with a hint of frostiness. Buying an ice cream maker (I bought this one) has changed my life! This last week I have made paleo roasted banana coconut, paleo lavender honey vanilla and good old fashioned pistachio. This is the real thing. Now, remember my friends I am still learning and I accidentally screwed up my sugar ratio, but it will still good. If I could tweak this recipe I would use less almond extract and less pistachios. Other than that it was pretty darn scrumptious!

I have been pretty into Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network lately and am excited for her new book. I pre-ordered here! I have all her books and they are super helpful and inspiring.This new one is perfect for me since it is full of easy recipes.

my alma mater's agriculture department had an ice cream shop on campus made from their department's cows. it was so incredibly fresh and has ruined all other ice creams for me since. perhaps the homemade route would be the next best bet.

my favorite ice cream ever is van leeuwen's earl grey flavor. that would be a good one to try and re-create!

I love Ina Garten! And I love my ice cream maker also. The best is when the man puts fresh strawberries in vanilla ice cream. So creamy and simple and soooo good.

Ladies, thank you! This one was a little more work than usual. I may need to look for alternative recipes for it.

Pistachio is my ultimate favorite ice cream (well usually I like it in gelato form but i'll take whatever!). I've been talking about busting out my ice cream maker over the past couple of weekends, but haven't gotten around to it. This may be all the motivation I need. :)

I love it! I just love it love it love it! If you can relax into cooking and realize that no matter what, it's all a learning experience, it can be almost meditative. Very calming for the mind! Can't wait to try this one!

If you like pistachio ice cream, I strongly encourage you to try pistachio kulfi. It's the South asian equivalent of ice cream, but the texture is slightly different. I highly recommend it as one of my personal favorites. :)
