Chocolate Bark

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Hi my name is Taylor and I am a chocoholic! I swear I crave chocolate after every meal. So the other weekend I decided to try making gluten free, vegan, chocolate bark. Now, I am still learning how to cook and bake and this recipe was pretty simple, but you win some and you loose some. If something could go wring while baking these they did. My boyfriend and I changed a few things about the recipe. Instead of using grape seed oil we used coconut oil. We also used regular dark chocolate. Things were going well until my timer didn't work and the pecans got a little burnt and then our sticky saucepan burned our chocolate (next time I will try the double burner). So, with not enough dark chocolate left we had to add semi-sweet to the mix and even then we were an entire cup short. Despite the screw ups the chocolate bark turned our pretty yummy. I can't wait to try again and see how delicious it is with the right ingredients.

Despite the kitchen mishaps, it still looks pretty amazing! I definitely don't need to read chocolate-y posts at 8:30am. :)

I'm the same way! I'd definitely eat a huge slice of chocolate cake over dinner if given the choice. Chocolate always wins out :-)
