Fashionable & Fit -Jessica Biel

I have been getting a lot of requests for stylish things to wear when working out. I definitely don't think you ladies should be sporting a old dingy t-shirt and sweat shorts. I am a firm believer that if you dress in tight, dry-fit, functional work out clothes you will feel more confident and energetic. You have to dress the part. One woman who I look to for inspiration is Jessica Biel

I think Jessica is such a strong role model for women. She is incredibly fit, but not super model fit. She looks strong and muscular. Women are often afraid to look muscular, but if you look at Jessica you can see an example of a woman who is strong and stylish at the same time. Whether she is running with her beau, walking her dogs, lifting weights or doing yoga she looks great.

Jessica is also a great example of how women who are buff and beautiful can still dress fashion forward and feminine. She can kick your butt, but she will do it in lipstick and designer jeans. I love that even with her powerful legs she wears skinny jeans. So many women feel that if they have bigger legs they can't wear skinny jeans. It may look different than it does on Alexa Chung, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't look fabulous.

This weekend get out there and break a sweat and then throw on a gorgeous outfit and feel fit and fabulous.

she is definitely amazing. she definitely manages to look spot on whether she is working out or going out. it's so annoying seeing girls who wear the most inappropriate things when working out.... great post! very inspirational! xx

I will say this much, in person she is tiny. I was surprised because I always thought she was fit and healthy, which she is, but in person she is very skinny.

Great post. I have to say since you posted about not being afraid to "bulk up" a bit, I have been much more confident using the weight machines at my gym. I definitely would rather look fit than stick thin. Thanks for all of the advice!

I have always envied those ppl that take the time to coordinate their outfit for the gym....I'm just not there yet...its hard enough to get the energy to get out of the bed, that adding the stress of getting a coordinating outfit would be just too much....so I'm still in the old tee and unmatching shorts stage, but at least I go right???? :)

I totally agree with you there, she's always photographed looking great whilst exercising. She's stylish, proud of her body and proud to say that she likes to keep fit in interviews. Unlike gym bunnies that claim to hate working out!

I really like Jessica Biel! She does have some great looks(:

I agree - she's definitely an inspiration. I used to create an incentive for myself - if I got enough workouts in for the week, I got to pick out a cute new exercise piece of clothing. Worked like a charm!

Great looks! The only thing I've found with tighter fitting pants is the problem of sweat in places that...um...make it look like you had an accident. Maybe that's t.m.i. Sorry! haha...but really, when I know I'm doing a really intense workout I'll wear some loser fitting gym shorts with spandex underneath.

I totally agree about looking the part. I tend to be a lot more positive about working out when I feel like I look good! Oh and for larger chested girls, a good fitting sports bra is ESSENTIAL! You don't want those girls bouncing around...it hurts.

Ok...I hope you don't mind that I added my own ideas. haha. I am glad you chose Jessica Biel! She's stunning.

love it!! Sometimes Im tempted to just throw on an old T-shirt and gross shorts because I havent wanted to spend money on gym clothes. Your post has inspired me to invest in myself and spend some cash on nice gym clothes :)

I have the tendency to wear the same thing to the gym almost everytime (or a variation) but it's an equation that works. Knee length yoga pants sports bra with long tank top over knotted at the hip. Or my fitted black gym tank top. All are a variation of black or blue/blue green.
I love this post!! And jessica biel has a sick body, makes me excited for working out. Also I think that a lot of fashion is dying to be worn by girls that are curvy and muscular. Although you still have to be careful. I have very muscular arms and i know some clothes either make me look like a man or fantastically defined. But i think everything looks better now that I'm more muscular. Thanks for the post taylor!

I love her so much! And these are great photos- they show off her body without being too flashy. Great stuff!

I couldn't agree more, Taylor about wearing fitting and fun workout clothes. When I wear the right top, I find myself doing more arm weights. Also, I often run errands after working out, so looking somewhat cute is a bonus. I love that you profiled JB. She always looks great and natural working out.

Have a good weekend! Hopefully we get some sunshie in the bay area!

Such a great idea for a post! I love that Jessica Biel always looks her best, even when she's working out. That's not easy to do but she makes it look effortless!

I love this feature. I think another thing that's so great about Jessica is that she clearly cares about her fitness. There are so many actresses/models/singers that act like they don't give a damn and that attitude just isn't as inspiring to real women.

This was great, Taylor. Thank you. I've been trying to get back into shape, but finding motivation has been really tough. I love the way Jessica Biel dresses in and out of the gym. She is so perfectly fit.

Jamie said...

I totally agree, if you dress frumpy you will be less motivated when you workout. It's definitely not a fashion show, but feeling confident in what you wear will kick up your drive to work harder!
