Sports Chic

Now this is my kind of photo shoot! I actually wanted to do a similar shoot at our CrossFit gym but I chickened out! Now, I'm kicking myself. However, it would have been tough for me to do a shoot as fine as this one by the talented Cecilia Austin at CrossFit Oakland. The stunning model is Jennifer who also has a fashion blog. I love the unexpected combination of fashion and fitness.

I like your site and what you're trying to do, but I'm sorry: This photo spread is dumb, dumb, and more dumb. 2011 has an abundance of serious women athletes doing incredible things (hello, World Cup!), and yet, an emaciated teenage sex kitten circa 1984 in platform stilettos with sheer ankle socks, shredded rock-star leggings and a come hither look——who probably can't lift that pink kettle bell without assistance——is supposed to inspire us? Please. Who, exactly, is the audience for this material?

If you want a well-done, sexy, inspiring photo shoot featuring powerful women, you need to pay attention to the Women's Tennis Association. Now there is a talented photographer.

Love this! I really like to fitness and I always try to do it in a fashionable way. These looks are very inspiring! Though I might trade the high heels for a pair of black reeboks ;)

I understand the chickening out that you mentioned. Sometimes when I'm taking photos for outfit posts on my blog I get scared to go to some locations because people will be there and think wtf?!?

LOL! Those shoes. As a runner, all I see here are broken ankles and injured knees. I always run better in a new outfit or with new tunes. Love your fitness posts.

I love this photo shoot and I think you should for sure re-create this! I love the concept of reminding woman that it's fashionable to be the physical chick who can still rock an amazing style.

I am LOVING this editorial! These are almost replicas of the images I've had in my head about creating a "gym" story line for a shoot. Amazing and fashionable at the same time. Thanks for posting these.
