Now She's Got Style: Ashley Olsen

Like most fashion bloggers I adore the Olsen twins for their trend setting fashion. On a regular basis I check out multiple Olsen Twin websites to see what the two sisters are sporting. I tend to favor Ashley for her sophisticated yet edgy look. Originally I fell for her because she has my exact hair type. Wavy and ratty!  She makes me want some awesome scarves for fall along with new tall boots and a bunch of classic winter jackets.

Fall is that you?

{Urban Outfitters sweater, BCBG tank dress, Forever 21 necklace, leggings, thrift boots, Club Monaco clutch, Coverings watch, Anthropologie knit cap}
As I have been saying over and over, it's hot and majorly hot! The other day it was in the triple digits here in the bay. However, today I really felt the first feeling of fall. It was in the 60's and cold and windy. I immediately wanted to grab a cup of tea and snuggle by the fire. It still is not cold enough to really pack on the clothes so I threw on some cozy items that still allowed me to keep cool. I love wearing hats (best way to hide my rat's nest hair) and this knit cap from Anthropologie is one of my favorites!

A lot of you have been asking about the lighting in my pictures. I would love to have a nice SLR camera and one day I will, but I use Picnik to edit my lighting and exposure. It is an awesome photo site. Check it out!

Serena Style

{H&M sequin cardigan, Forever 21 lace tank and skirt and  bow clutch, thrift booties}
Well, the weekend is over and it is time to get busy! I have four days to work and then I am off to wine country. Sunday has been a day of groceries, errands, and catching up on my DVR. I watched some episodes of Gossip Girl and decided once again that it is time to spice up my wardrobe. Out of all the characters I relate most to Serena's style.  This outfit was not taken to look like anything, but it does give me a bit of  the Serena vibe. I adore my H&M sequin cardigan.
So, keep your eyes out for some new style from me. I also have decided to try to add a few more classic pieces to my wardrob.

If you are like me and love Serena's long beachy waves here is a tutorial to get her look:

1. Spritz Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray on freshly washed hair.
2. Blow dry hair on the lowest setting using a diffuser attachment.
3. Use a two inch curling iron to create wave. Wrap hair around the curling iron and remove almost immediately to get this wave instead of a big curl.
4. Curl hair away from the face on both sides on the front of the face.

Crazy for Cavalli

Cavalli is back with a great line for Spring 2010. This wardrobe is full of grungy fringe and layers, but mixed with pretty sparkles and chic biker jackets. I love how he paired unexpected items together and put bras over backwards styled tanks. I want to go out and copy that first look right now. Once again I am sorry that I have not been posting or visiting all of your amazing blogs lately. I am swamped this week and will be out of town this weekend. I promise to have some amazing things for you girls next week! Thanks and have a great Friday!!

Heat Wave

{Urban Outfitter romper,  vintage belt, Steve Madden wedges, mom's gold bangle, Forever 21 charm necklace, BP retro sunglasses, Betsyville handbag}
It is officially Autumn and it's 100 degrees out! Times like this I am actually thankful that I work in an air conditioned office. However, I must admit I am getting sick of wearing summer clothes. So, last night when I was rummaging through my closet for something to wear I was thrilled to find this romper. I picked this baby up on sale from Urban Outfitters a few months ago and I have never put it to use. It is a little plain and needed something to spice it up. I decided my gold shell vintage belt would do the trick (I love finding reasons to wear it). I also paired it with some wedges to make it slightly less casual.

Since this is something I would rock as a little girl I thought it was appropriate to throw around the beach ball and hitch a ride in the little tike!

Lucky Girl

{Anthropologie top and purse, Forever 21 top, Roxy sandals, Michael Kors watch}
Hey ladies!! I am super busy this week and will do my best to have some outfit posts and some fun topics, but I'll be running around like a chicken with it's head cut off! However, I have a lot of cool things going on! It is very hot in the bay and suppose to reach record highs. This outfit is something easy and simple to wear in the sweltering sun. The top is from Anthropologie and is so lightweight and breathable.

Now, some fun news. I received a phone call today from Lucky Magazine telling me I was a chosen to be one of their Alpha Shoppers. Awesome!! I will be reviewing products for them, give input on shopping and style, going to events, and report on what's happening in my city. I am excited and it should be fun. More details later. xxx

Office Space Crush

I am scouring the Internet and magazines for office space inspirations. My office is looking drab and in major need of a make over. Recently, I came across the offices of Jenna Lyon's SVP of women's designs at J. Crew (aka. the lady behind Jenna's Picks) and Melissa Davis from Ruby Press PR and I instantly fell in love with their  pretty details, soft colors and feminine appeal. Both women have a lot of white in their offices with a splash of blue or red. They also have their own inspiration boards displayed by their desks. I am a collage addict and have been making inspiration boards since I was young so this is something I definitely want in my office. I just can't decide if my company would approve. I love the little details they have like a nice smelling candle or Jenna's princess crown. These offices both make me excited to get out there and try something new! Time to stat shopping!

Fall Florals

{Forever 21 dress and sweater, Aldo booties}

Ok, so it isn't really fall here in Northern California, but it will be soon. It actually will be in the triple digits this weekend! I just can't help wanting to wear some layers and feel all bundled up and cozy. I feel like this is a good compromise. I can wear this out to dinner with the boy and when it gets a little chilly then I can throw on my favorite grandma sweater.  During the fall a pair of tights will be in order, but for now I can run around and let my legs soak up the warm summer sun! I can't wait to do an overhaul of my closet during the fall. I think it is time to weed out things that I haven't worn in a year or just look dingy. However, if I keep doing this I may run out of clothes!

Today has been a busy day already! I am thrilled and overwhelmed by the amount of things spinning in my head. I have so many ideas, but need to remember to slow down and focus on what needs to be done now. Do you ever feel that way? I tend to be a dreamer and sooner or later I get bit by the reality bug!

Back to Black

{New York Co. Blazer, Forever 21 t-shirts and leggings, Urban Outfitters boots, my necklaces, Michael Kors watch, BP retro glasses}

In the spirit of going with more neutral colors I decided to pull out my favorite blazer. I scored this last year when I was searching for some work staples at New York Company. I was elated when I found out it was only going to cost me $5. Not sure what happened, but I was stoked.  I wasn't about to spend $70 on a NewYork Co. blazer. It is a tuxedo blazer and it's tailored well. I can wear it with everything.
I apologize for always having the same old background for outfit shots, but I have been so busy and I can't go and find new locations. I am working full-time, commuting two hours, working out, taking an online class for writing for the web, and coming up with some new business ideas. Maybe someday I will get some more interesting pictures for you girls!
If you ever want to learn more about the kind of workouts I do it is called Crossfit. It is fun and intense! I recommend it! Below is me busting a sweat at Crossfit Cadence!
Happy Wednesday. The week is half over!

Feeling Neutral

After searching through Style and the City I was inspired to wear more neutral colors. I think next time I go shopping I need some black, tan, gray and white items. Then I can spice it up with shoes and a handbag! I love how all these women look effortlessly chic in these basic outfits! I think it's time for a closet overhaul. I am in need for:
3.  Black blazer
4. Tan handbag
5. Black boots

BCBG Bargain

{BCBG dress, Urban Outfitters boots, vintage bracelet, necklaces designed by me, Betsey Johnson purse}

Over the weekend a took a journey over to Crossroads. I wasn't having much luck and was about to walk out when my eyes were distracted by this sparkling item wedged in a corner. Since I am a sucker for sequins I had to go take a look. It was this pretty soft shell white tank dress from BCBG. The most beautiful thing of all was that is cost me a whopping $7 bucks! I was elated! This little dress could easily be worn as a dress or over some skinny jeans. I also designed these two necklaces over the weekend. They don't show well in the pictures, but they looked nice layered over the dress. Don't you just love when you find a great deal?!

Everything Tastes Better With Wine

{Forever 21 dress, Aldo shoes, Necklaces long one designed by me, short from Etsy}

This weekend was all about relaxation. I was in major need of a wine night. So, the boyfriend and I made an awesome BBQ dinner. We got Whole Foods steak, veggie skewers, and cooked sauteed mushrooms. We also popped open some Storrs Rusty Ridge Zinfandel (excuse my glass for it's offensive name and the sticky mess from my lip gloss addiction). It was a great evening and was totally overdue. I also snagged some great items this weekend from Crossroads and H&M.
What did you do this weekend?

What's Inside Your Closet? Contest.

Closet #1 Felicia from She is Obsessed
I have to admit I am loving her presentation. These pics look great. Also, check out how organized she is. Her shoes are perfection and I want to snag some of that jewelry!
Closet #2 is Anniken Cecilie
 What a cute closet space!! I love the storage! I am also admiring her handbags and shoes! I also think the little nook where she stores her nail polish is great.

Closet #3 is from Megan Saulsbury
Megan is a friend of mine from college. Thanks for sending in your pictures girl! I love how clean and pretty Megan's closet is and if you spy around you see some amazing labels (Louis, Gucci, Chanel). I also love the darling picture up on the wall. What a cute touch.
Sorry, that I can't include all the pics of your closets that you girls sent in. I tried to pick the best ones. I have more fabulous girls to feature so keep checking back!
