My love for all things feminine and ladylike is at an all time high--tweed jackets, feminine frocks, and delicate blouses are all on my must-have list. I want it even more if it happens to come with a bow. I'm such a sucker for this girly detail.

This past week I've been diggin' a retro vibe--teased hair, full skirts, and ladylike silhouettes. This dress from Zara fit that bill and its beautiful soft pink color went perfectly with my patent nude flats.

My 30th Birthday

Tomorrow is my 30th birthday! I can't believe it. My 20s went by in a flash. I'm thrilled to be entering a new age group. In the past turning 30 could be a "scary" thing, but these days it's exciting. I'm thrilled to see what's in store for me. I finally feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be both personally and professionally. Plus, 30 is set to be a great year with my wedding, a honeymoon in Italy & Paris, and Glitter Guide's 1 year anniversary!  Thank you all for experiencing this journey with me!

I'm a sucker for a full skirt (or anything feminine and ladylike). This Moschino dress was one of my favorites from the Resort 2012 collection.  So when Rent the Runway asked if I wanted to try their service for an event I knew this was the dress I wanted to rent. Since it's still pretty chilly I decided to wear it with a chic cropped sweater and turn it into a skirt. To add a twist I went with turquoise nails and matching earrings. 

Rent the Runway is a great alternative for women who don't want to spend a fortune dressing for events. If you have something coming up and want to wear a fun designer piece I recommend checking them out.

Glitter Guide: Valentine's Day Girls' Night In

I've always been a fan of Valentine's Day. Mostly because it's just a few days before my birthday and because it's an excuse to eat candy and get dressed up. Glitter Guide decided it would be fun to celebrate the love you have for the women in your life with a girls' night in. Simple Chic Style

 

This week has been exceptionally busy (my inbox reached 95% full!). Also, my fiancé started a new schedule and I no longer have the privilege of having him home during the afternoons. It's harder for me to take outfit pictures (although I will still try). Since I don't have a new outfit to share I thought I'd share outfits that are inspiring me. This last year I've been drawn to simple, chic, feminine looks. While I still have a fondness for playful prints, color-blocking, and cheeky design, I find that overall I prefer to dress 'simple chic with a feminine twist'. These looks are definitely inspiration for my wardrobe for 2012. Plus, I'm entering a new age group in 17 days--my thirties! So excited.
