Dressy Casual

Working for myself usually means my business meeting outfits can be a little more casual and fun. This outfit was exactly that. I love the way the casual baseball tee dresses down the more conservative wool trousers. My Loeffler Randall wedges are an interesting mix of casual and dressy--the low height makes them easy but the patent toe makes them look fancy. Plus, my Camille Zarsky  envelope clutch is the perfect accessory for a fashionable coffee meeting.

The Scent Of A Woman

I've always been infatuated by scents. If something smells good I want it (whether it's perfume, beauty products, or food). I love the way perfume evokes a memory from a time in your life, a person, place, or thing. While I have some personal favorites (Chanel Chance & Vicktor & Rolf Flowerbomb), I like to to wear different scents for different moods and occasions. I'm currently looking for new recommendations. What are some of your favorite scents?

I've been trying to do many of the things on this list to reinvigorate my creativity. I do a lot of 9 and 30. I need to work on the others. What about you?

Last week Lucky Magazine and Banana Republic asked me to help style Banana Republic card members using 13 pieces selected by Lucky. It was a blast and I loved helping women discover pieces that made them feel confident and pretty. I was also excited that my parents came to visit and shop with me!

This is a spin on my daily uniform. I've been wearing these black denim jeans in lieu of my dark wash skinny jeans for a more dressy look, but they are still super comfortable. They are likely going to be my new winter staple. I can wear dress them up with a pair of heels, run around town in them with a pair of flats, or slip them into flat boots for a weekend get together.

A girl can never have too many pumps. So I was excited to receive this patent nudes pair from Nine West. They are simple and classic. Definitely my new go-to shoe for work meetings. Added bonus: they go with almost everything in my closet!

Tasty

My boyfriend and I love to cook and bake during the fall and winter months. Over the weekend we made: Paleo pumpkin ice cream, Paleo pumpkin cookies, BBQ whole chicken with sweet potato fries, apricot almond stuffed pork chops, and pulled pork in our slow cooker (all were quite tasty). Here are a few recipes that I've added to my can't-wait-to-try list:

1. Lemon Rosemary Garlic Chicken
2. Maple Butter
3. Pumpkin Smores Cake
4.  Sweet Potato Chips

*We are not on the Paleo diet currently. However, we still make many Paleo recipes.

These Frye boots are special favorites that I've kept around for years. Despite their wear and tear I continue to treasure them. I wear them with a so many different looks. This weekend I was feeling a little '70s inspiration with this vintage embroidered dress.

This winter I plan on wearing a lot of chunky knits. Since I work from home I like to be comfortable and they are a great alternative to my pajamas. This one from Zara was so, so cozy. Naturally, it had to come home with me.

Here's a fun sneak peek of the Kate Spade Spring 2012 presentation yesterday. How adorable is that first bag?! The rest of our photos will go live on Glitter Guide tomorrow.

Simple Street Style

Crisp white shirt & Alexander Wang bag (still on my wish list)
White tee with a oversized orange blazer
Skinny jeans with a comfy scarf & jewel-tone accessories

While I appreciate funky cool fashions on the streets, the examples that are saved on my desktop are often simple and understated. There is something so refreshing about style that is subtle but eye-catching at the same time. Here are a few that I have my eye on.

Lo & Sons

Photography & Video: Michelle Drewes

A couple of months ago I teamed up with Lo & Sons to model for their new Fall/Winter 2011 bags. I discovered them through my friend Caitlin and fell in love with their simple, chic, and functional design. I recently traveled to NYC with the O.G. bag and it was a serious life saver! In a few weeks Lo & Sons is coming out with 4 new colors, 2 new totes, a smaller version of the O.G., a crossbody pouch, and even a men's bag. They also improved the interior pocket designs and modified the zipper detailing, so each product has even smarter design than the original O.G. and T.T. bags.

If you subscribe to their email list you will be given a 35% discount on your purchase.

*I modeled the new OG in an olive green color and new T.T. in black.
