Stop and Smell the Chanel

I hope your week has been a lovely one! I have had a roller coaster week full of bright ideas and inspiration mixed with hard work and complete exhaustion. I consider myself to be a pretty ambitious person. I pile on activities, projects, and new adventures, but with all of this can come burn out. I had a realization while driving home on my busy commute yesterday that I need to stop and enjoy life's pleasures more often. I have been so consumed with all of my projects that I haven't had a mani/pedi, eyebrow wax, car wash, massage or just sipped a glass of wine for no reason in too long.

I love staying busy. Many might say that I am addicted to it. Even when I can't even imagine taking something else on I will get an idea that I must act upon. However, this can't be good for the soul. Every once and a while we should all take some time to "stop and smell the roses" or "stop and smell the Chanel" as I like to say. So, I am going to actively try to carve more time out for ME and focus on life and the pleasures it has to offer. Yesterday I shared a few of my own small pleasures and today I share a few things that I hope my weekend will bring.

*Enjoy the simple beauty of a wearing head to toe white
* Bask in the scent of my favorite perfume (a few of my favorites: Miss Dior Cherie and Chanel Chance)
*Clean my cottage and start to "cheat on fashion with furniture" as Carrie said.
*Buy fresh flowers from the market and read a deliciously decadent story
*Spend only two hours researching and reading for my upcoming projects (which I do enjoy)
*Go for a long therapeutic run and get back into yoga after almost a year off
*And remember the day that I realized a man in my life could be the one I will love forever

I hate to admit the irony in that I have a wedding to go to this weekend and that even my pleasure list is a bit too ambitious! Oh well!

Have a pleasure filled weekend my friends.

Small Pleasures

Just a few of the things that bring me happiness throughout the day:
-Admiring at fun and pretty rings
-Deciding what color to paint my nails
-Enjoying pretty flowers and a sweet smelling candle
-Organizing my growing sunglasses collection
-Reading a book while laying in the sunlight (nothing better)

Back to Basics

Top & Bandeau-American Apparel, Jeans-Gap, Handbag- Tressje, Shoes-Steve Madden, Rings- Purple Label & YSL c/o Designer Apparel, Bangle-Vintage, Necklaces-House of Harlow 1960 & Blue Bride; , Sunglasses-Karen Walker

With this being the coolest summer we have had in a long time I have been yearning for a fall wardrobe sooner than usual. I love basics and dressing more relaxed and comfortable. You don't have to sacrifice style when wearing basics. I love wearing bandeaus and this tank from American Apparel is perfect to show it off. I am really particular about how my tanks fall. They have to have length for styling and tucking into jeans. This is definitely my favorite outfit for shopping and running errands (and you can bet I have my new Gap flats in my giant bag). If only I has those Ance pistol boots with this outfit!

Thank you to Cat for my beautiful necklace! Check out her Esty store Bride Blue!

Fall Favorites

This fall I am looking forward to keeping things clean, comfortable, and minimalistic with a touch of color and a hint of flash. I can't wait to be fresh faced wrapped up in a chunky knit, wear a thin tee tucked into a fantastic pair of wool trousers, slip a pair of skinny jeans into sleek pistol boots, add a splash of color to a neutral outfit, cozy up in a shearling jacket, and rock leopard all season long. What are your favorites for fall?

1. Alexander Wang Donna small leather hobo $750
2. Acne Velocite oversized shearling aviator jacket $2250
3. Balenciaga City Bag on Caroline's Mode
4. Splendid Acid wash jersey T-shirt $50
4. Topshop Oversized Knit $90
6. Tucker Leopard-print silk blouse $280
7. Stella McCartney Cropped wool pants$575
8. Acne Pistol Short leather boots $560

Beat the Heat

Top-c/o of Modcloth, Skirt- Forever 21, Shoes- Zara, Bag-Hallelu, Sunglasses-Karen Walker, Necklace & Ring- H&M

After a week away full of Crossfit Games (my bf came in 13th in the world), shopping, Santa Barbara and catching a horrific cold, I am starting to feel more like myself again. Since, I have been under the weather I want to dress comfortable and let me hair be wild and frizzy. I have little patience for getting ready. So, this outfit was perfect for a quick dinner out. I recently bought these Zara sandals and have hardly gone a day without them on. I also bought these Karen Walker sunnies with help from my $100 from Beso.com that I won from my love Kim

I was able to snap a few pictures before I was struck down with my cold. Our hotel had a lovely roof top with a pool and a view of the city!
