I'm excited to share with you my first video in partnership with Revlon®. We've teamed up to bring you a series of mini videos throughout the year! Our first video is all about achieving an easy and natural smoky eye.
Since I'm no pro when it comes to makeup, I like products that are easy to use. I also like to feel natural and not overdone. The Revlon® ColorStay™ 16 Hour Eye Shadow palette is super easy to use and lays the colors out in steps. To achieve my look start with the Revlon PhotoReady™ Eye Primer + Brightener. Next apply the colors from the palette step by step as shown on the back of the product. Complete the look with a few coats of Revlon 3D Volume™ Mascara. What's great is you can rock this look at work and also be ready for dinner and drinks after.

Great video! I love Revlon's products but I haven't tried the Smoky look yet. I'm turning 30 soon and my husband is taking me away for a couple of days without our son for the first time since he was born (a year and a half ago). I kind of am in the minority here, but I like a casual smokey eye just for everyday wear, even to school.
ReplyDeletei'm no ace when it comes to make up and this seems pretty doable, even for me. on a day to day basis i don't wear a lot of make up. just the basics. the smoky eye is exclusively for special occasions :) i wear glasses [and actually love to wear them], so sometimes my eyes get lost behind the frame and the lenses. the smoky eye helps to highlight them to be more noticeable.

ReplyDeleteI would wear the smoky eye to my friend's beach wedding that is coming up in June! It's going to be right on the sand, and went the sun is setting, so the smokey eye colors will be gorgeous in the sunlight...and perfect for the reception that follows!

Being a full-time grad student, I don't get to go out very often anymore. To keep myself from feeling down about this, I have started incorporating more fun/fancy makeup and hairstyles into my daily routine (I tone it down for a day appropriate look). I smudge my liner every day to keep from having a too perfect look (I like it to look like I didnt just put it on, plus the smudge makes my lashes look thicker). But when I really want to glam-it-up I smudge a thicker line with a dark color all around my eye. I love how it makes my green eyes pop against my dark hair!

Some people think that smokey eyes should be reserved for night time but I must beg to differ! Smokey eyes can be worn during the day if done correctly... maybe using browns or light greys instead of stark/harsh blacks! But I also feel that smokey eyes are perfect for a night out because its like instant glam... again when done correctly! Love it!
