This weekend we headed to Napa, CA for a friend's wedding. It was such a beautiful (albeit short) getaway! However, I returned home with a nasty head cold. Since I wasn't able to take any photographs this weekend and now I'm sick in bed I thought I would share some recent snapshots from my Instagram.

With the weather slightly cooler this weekend I chose to bring out the layers. During the day I ran around in jeans, a gingham button-up and flats. At night I jazzed it up with heels and chunky jewelry. I still looked casual but with a bit more flair.

Sometimes I like to daydream about an "official" Glitter Guide office. I gather inspiration from around the web that are full of glittery details! So far I imagine it white with pops of fun and quirky details like a neon sign, sparkly tassel, and unique pieces turned into art.

Currently I've been coveting simple clothes with statement accessories. I'm trying to avoid buying overly trendy pieces (I'd gladly make an exception for this trend) and I'm focusing on versatile items that I can mix and match with everything in my closet. This cream Equipment blouse adds sophistication to distressed cut off jean shorts and the neutral color makes the mustard loafers pop!

Details are my favorite part of a home (seen here) or an outfit. It's the little things that provide character. That's probably why I've started a substantial collection of accessories, nail polishes, and lipsticks--they can easily transform any outfit from blah to bamm!
