While I thrive on the long hours and hard work that goes into Glitter Guide  I try to take time on the weekend to turn off the computer and appreciate my life. It isn't easy for me to break away. I'm still learning how to truly shut down. Yesterday, my boyfriend and enjoyed our friends, ate some amazing sushi, and topped it off with some bubbly champagne. It was the perfect way to get through a wet weekend and re-charge for the week. Bring it on!

My Favorite Trends For Spring

Here in the Bay Area it already feels like spring. I'm overjoyed with the promise of clean crisp air and blooming flowers. I get positively giddy about dressing up during the springtime. I yearn for pops of bright colors, feminine details and loud prints! To be honest I'm almost always happily obsessed with these wardrobe options. For me they are more like staples. I can't wait to turn the dial up on my inner girlie girl and wear more bows, flowers, and bright pink lips than ever before.

How To Pack a Suitcase

With NYC only two weeks away I've been thinking a lot about what to pack. Packing is not my forte so I love finding tips to help improve my skills. I'm tickled by the videos by The Girls With Glasses and really enjoy their fun advice.

Here's a summary of their tips on packing:

First and foremost make a list! 
1. Clothes: pack items that can be remixed and are transitional (day to night) like your favorite jeans, tanks, cardigans and dresses.
2. Shoes: a pair of flats for shopping and walking around and a pair of fabulous heels for night (if only I could reduce down to two pairs. I need a whole other suitcase for mine!).
3. Accessories: jewelry, hats, scarfs, and umbrella (I believe accessories are the most important part. They can make the same clothes look different and fresh).
4. Cosmetics: remember your toiletries. Summer's favorite is the Claresonic and Brooke' favorite is the Tassi (need it!).

For the carry on:
1. Tide to Go pen
2. Pill container 
3. Antibacterial hand gel
4. Sleep mask
5. Dry shampoo

I've always been fond of Valentine's Day especially since my birthday is just four days later. So when my sister asked if I wanted to team up for a valentine photo shoot for Treat ur Sweet I was totally on board (see our first one here)! My sister is so talented. I'm ready for spring. The weather in California has been so incredible I forget it's only January. It's easy for me to dress for warm weather. It's what I know. However, I just booked tickets to New York in February and I'm not prepared to bare the cold. I'm really going to have to get creative with my wardrobe and avoid the urge to shop. I would love to run around looking just like this. 

I'm  really excited to go to the  Lucky's FABB conference in and hear all the amazing speakers (Jenna Lyons!). Plus, I'm going to be staying with the fabulous Beth Jones! I can't wait!

Many of you may be feeling the excitement surrounding the build up to New York Fashion Week but lately I've been deeply in love. That's right, I've already started focusing on Valentine's Day (one of my favorite holidays!). I partnered with my fabulous sister again to promote her Etsy shop Treat ur Sweet.

This editorial is one of my absolute favorites! I've had it saved on my desktop for months. I love the soft fairy tale vibe and the way the colors are bright and soft at the same time.
