Kale, Spinach and Pear Smoothie

Say hello to my new favorite thing.

I've been on a quest for the perfect breakfast drink and I've finally found it: a kale, spinach and pear smoothie! I know it may not look or sound appealing, but I promise you it's delicious and healthy! I can't even taste the kale or spinach. It's tastes like sweet delicious goodness.*

Printable Recipe

Ingredients:
1 big cup spinach leaves
1 big cup chopped kale leaves
1/2 pear
1 frozen banana
1 1/2 cups cold almond milk (I like unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:
Remove kale leaves from their center stalk (I just pull them off and rip into small pieces).  In a blender, combine kale spinach and almond milk.  Blend until no big kale bits remain. Add banana honey and pear. Blend until smooth. Enjoy!

I've added things like almond butter and shredded coconut to it. You can really play with it and it still tastes great!

{Recipe from Joy the Baker and Shutterbean --I had to add the pretty straw too. It's too cute.}
*I've been known to over hype the taste of healthy foods, but I think I'm right on with this one!

This looks so delicious - I love juices. My personal favorite is carrot apple. I go to my local juice bar as often is possible and ask them to make me whatever's fresh. Most people I know stray far, far away from fruit/vegetable combination. Sad :(

This looks really yummy. My boyfriend and I have been drinking the smoothies like crazy lately. I'll have to add this to the list.

YUM! I love this type of smoothie, and I will definitely be trying this one! Already copied down the recipe and emailed it to myself :) Another good one is a spinach and mango smoothie... big hand-full of spinach, frozen mango (to make it more creamy), and a little bit of water. Then Blend! xx
