I finally finished my month long gluten-free diet. Everyone hoped it would help my IBS and allergies. The diet did work, but admittedly, I had a few setbacks. The results were surely influenced by a cold I had for two weeks. I'm excited to try the diet again when the holiday food temptations are past and I can focus on eating clean. Despite my confusing results I still plan on cooking without gluten as much as possible. Until I feel confident to make my own recipes, I'll  head to Elana's Pantry for easy gluten free dishes. My boyfriend and I love ice cream. This gluten free, vegan, dairy free, chocolate sorbet only contains water, agave oil, and dark chocolate chips 73% cacao (recipe here). If you aren't a fan of dark chocolate this may be too bitter for you, but we love it's natural flavor.
*ice cream is typically gluten free

I've had really bad allergies for the past month and decided to give up gluten for the past five days and it's seriously helped me. I mean, my doctor thinks I'm ridiculous, but I feel SO much better.

I dunno...I'll eat gluten when I need to, but for now, I'm kinda staying away from it.

One of my best friends who I lived with for two years at school also has IBS and I know first hand the struggles she went through. I hope you are able to figure out what works for you to feel better!

MMM! That looks so good!!! :D
It really stinks about all the problems you've been having, but hopefully after the holidays you'll feel better when you try the diet again.

My sister did gluten free for a month once and she never looked better. She was literally glowing.

I'll have to pass this recipe on to her and my super strict vegan friend.

first off, i ordered the LOVE pillowcases, and well, LOVE them! thanks again for the info!

second, i had horrendous ibs years ago, and what i HIGHLY recommend is a GOOD pro-biotc (flora jen or new chapter brands), and KOMBUCHA. kombucha is essentially a pro-biotic as well, but it really helps with digestion.
also, check out a product called E3 live. amazing.
i really am ibs free now, thank the LORD!

sorry for sounding like an infomercial!

I really want to try a gluten free diet, since I have the feeling it could do wonders with my stomachaches. Hope to hear more from your experiences ;)

I love homemade vegan ice cream...so easy, so delicious. This looks like a good one! One of my favorites is frozen banana, frozen strawberries, and a splash of non-dairy milk (almond or soy) all blended in a Vita Mix. Tastes like the most amazing strawberry ice cream!

I am proud of you for making the plunge and going gluten free!! I have IBS too and literally lasted about one day on my so-called "gluten free diet" this summer. You are inspiring me to want to try it again! Especially with all of your yummy gluten free recipes.
