She's Got Style: Mimi From La Mimi

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I am so excited to share this feature with you. For this "She's Got Style" I interviewed Mimi from La Mimi. Mimi is a image consultant from Canada and she has an amazing sense of style and to top it off has a fantastic personality. She has a positive outlook on life and her optimism is contagious. Mimi's site is like a fashion magazine with tips on celebrity style, beauty, and fashion trends. Make sure you check it out after you read all about her!

1. Age and Occuapation?
I'm 23 and I am an image consultant. At the moment I am also working on breaking into the fashion styling industry.

2. What inspired you to start La Mimi?
I remember discovering fashion blogs a few years ago. I loved the idea of people sharing their daily outfits, fashion experiences or just opinions on style, fashion and current trends. After a while I realized that I`m always researching on fashion related topics that interest me and that it would be fun to share them with people that have similar interests. La Mimi has grown into so much more than I expected and I feel really blessed and grateful for its success.

3. How would you describe your personal style?
I remember I used to be all over the place before. I`d go from being classy to edgy, to punkish, to creative- always looking for myself, for what resonates within me.  It took me almost 20 years to finally find myself and realize what clothes work for me and make me feel great. No more wasting money on things that hang in the closet with tags on.  I usually wear classy basics with a modern, edgy  twist.

4. Who are your style icons?
Quite honestly, I don`t have a particular style icon. I admire everyday people like you and other bloggers who spend time to make themselves look great. It`s so important to appreciate your body and make the best of it. If you can manage to do that, you can do anything!

5. What trend can you not stand?
Any trend that`s over done. At the moment it`s thigh high boots. Style is about individuality, about knowing what clothes, proportions and colors work for you. It`s not about wearing what`s in.

6. What trend are you eager to try?
White color is going to be super hot for spring 2010 and since I`m lucky to have it work for my complexion , I`m looking forward to getting more white in my wardrobe.

7. What are your must-have items in your purse right now?
In my purse I usually have my Iphone, Wallet, Red lipstick, D&G light blue perfume, Bath&Body pomegranate hand lotion,  to-do notebook and a good book. At the moment I`m reading  `The voice of Knowledge` by Don Miguel Ruiz

"No more wasting money on things that hang in the closet with tags on."

- That's exactly the very reason why I started blogging!! Now, I feel like I'm accountable with how I spend my money on! In the end, I know it will save me heaps! =)

Wow, I'm about to check out her site right now! Great interview. I love her sense of style and her quote about thigh high boots being overdone rings very true, as I saw around 40 girls today with almost the same outfits; thigh-high boots, black tunic, leggings. They all looked good, but they lost that individuality that comes from style.
